Volunteer & Campus Visits

We love having parents and community members on our campus! Volunteering is a wonderful way to support students, teachers, and school events while becoming an active part of our school community. Whether you have a few hours a month or can commit to more regular support, your time and involvement make a meaningful difference.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways to get involved at Pomo Elementary:

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers with classroom projects, support students during learning activities, or read one-on-one with students. Your presence in the classroom makes a direct impact on student learning.
  • Field Trips: Join students on field trips to provide supervision and support. Chaperones help create safe, memorable experiences for our students outside of the classroom.
  • Special Events: Help out during school events such as picture day, field day, family nights, movie nights, school dances, and more. There is always something happening at Pomo, and extra hands are always appreciated.
  • Parent Teacher Club (PTC): Parents are always welcome to join the PTC, which plans and organizes school events, fundraisers, and community-building activities throughout the year.

How to Volunteer

To volunteer on campus, all interested parents and community members must first complete a volunteer application packet. The volunteer packet is available on the district website. Once your application has been approved, you are welcome to volunteer on campus.

If you have questions about the volunteer process, please contact the front office — we are happy to help you get started!

Visiting Campus

Parents and community members are welcome to visit Pomo Elementary School. To ensure the safety of all students and staff, all visitors must follow the check-in procedures below before visiting any area of campus.

Check-In Requirements:

  • Stop by the main office first and bring a valid driver's license to be scanned into our Raptor Visitor Management System
  • Sign in and receive a visitor's pass before proceeding to any area of campus

Classroom Visits:

  • Please notify your child's teacher in advance before visiting their classroom
  • When entering a classroom, please enter quietly and be seated with minimal disruption — keeping distractions low helps protect valuable instructional time
  • We ask that parents refrain from entering the classroom while class is in session

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, focused learning environment for all of our students.
