Meals at No Charge for All Students

KUSD will continue to implement the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.

What this means for your family:

  • ALL students receive breakfast and lunch at no charge
  • No need to worry about meal accounts or payment

The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a key provision of The Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010. This program allows qualifying districts and schools to serve meals at no charge to ALL students without the burden of collecting household applications. Benefits of the CEP program include:

  • Streamlined paperwork and administrative requirements
  • More time for food service professionals to focus on preparing nutritious meals
  • Faster service and more time for students to eat
  • Elimination of stigma associated with free or reduced-price status
  • Increased participation, ensuring more students come to class well-nourished and ready to learn
