TUPE & Vaping Prevention
KUSD is committed to creating a healthy, safe, and supportive environment for all students. Through our Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE) program, we provide education, resources, and support to help students make positive choices and stay free from nicotine, tobacco, and vaping products.
Vaping and e-cigarette use among youth continue to rise nationwide. Many vaping products contain high levels of nicotine and harmful chemicals that can impact brain development, learning, and overall health. Our district is dedicated to helping students understand these risks and to supporting those who may need help quitting.
How TUPE Works
TUPE works with students, families, and staff to:
- Promote Awareness of the Dangers of Vaping and Tobacco Use
We educate students and families about the risks associated with nicotine, tobacco, and vaping products through engaging programs and information sessions. - Provide Prevention Education in Classrooms and School Activities
Our prevention education is integrated into classrooms and school activities, giving students the knowledge they need to make informed, healthy decisions. - Offer Counseling and Cessation Resources
We offer counseling and cessation resources for students who want to stop using vaping products, providing judgment-free support every step of the way.
Together, we can help our students make healthy choices for a brighter future.
