The KUSD Student Services Department oversees all aspects of student affairs, including attendance, discipline, health-related services, counseling and social-emotional support, student enrollment, and school safety.
Our mission is to provide comprehensive support for students, parents, and school administration while fostering a safe, structured learning environment.

What We Do
- 504 Plans: We support students with disabilities through individualized 504 Plans that provide accommodations to ensure equal access to education.
- Aeries & ParentSquare: We help families stay informed and engaged through student data (Aeries) and communication tools (ParentSquare).
- Attendance: We work closely with families and school sites to improve attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism through early intervention and support.
- Counseling: Our school counselors provide academic, personal, and social-emotional guidance to help students succeed at every grade level.
- Enrollment: We assist families with new student registration and ensure a smooth transition into our school community.
- Homeless & Foster Youth: We provide resources, advocacy, and support for students experiencing homelessness or in foster care to ensure educational stability and access.
- Migrant Education: Our Migrant Ed program supports eligible students and families with supplemental services that promote academic achievement and access to opportunities.
- Nursing & Health: Our school nurses promote student health and wellness through preventative care, health education, and response to medical needs.
- School Safety & Security: We coordinate efforts to maintain safe and supportive learning environments across all campuses.
- Social & Emotional Services: We offer mental health resources, wellness initiatives, and targeted interventions to help students manage emotions and build resilience.
- TUPE & Vaping Prevention: Through Tobacco-Use Prevention Education (TUPE), we provide education and resources to prevent tobacco, vaping, and substance use among students.
