Welcome to the Community
Welcome to Lake County's Heart
You're considering moving to or joining one of Lake County's vibrant communities—Clearlake, Clearlake Oaks, Lower Lake, Spring Valley, or Cobb Mountain. Whether you're drawn by the beauty of Clear Lake, the outdoor lifestyle, or the close-knit neighborhood feel, you're choosing a region where community matters. And at the center of these communities are KUSD schools—places where families gather, students grow, and neighbors become friends.
Konocti Unified School District isn't just where students learn. We're woven into the fabric of our communities, hosting events, building traditions, and creating the gathering spaces that make neighborhoods feel like home.
Community Life & School Events
KUSD schools are gathering places for our communities. Throughout the year, you'll find:
School-Centered Events

- Academic achievement celebrations
- Family engagement nights and community dinners
- Graduation ceremonies and milestone celebrations
Neighborhood Traditions

- Neighborhood connections and partnerships
Our schools aren't isolated buildings—they're destinations where families gather, celebrate milestones together, and strengthen the bonds that make our communities thrive.
The Role of KUSD in Our Communities
KUSD serves 4,002 students across our communities. We're committed to preparing them for success while keeping them rooted in community values. With a 74.6% graduation rate and strong attendance (89.11%), we're building the foundation for student and community success.
We know that strong families support strong communities. KUSD works with families to remove barriers to success:
Attendance Support
We partner with families facing transportation, health, or housing challenges. Attendance matters—and we're committed to helping every student get to school consistently.
Academic Support
From English Language Learner services to special education to academic tutoring, we ensure all students have what they need to succeed.
Community Partnerships
We collaborate with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to support student achievement and family well-being.
Nearly half of our students (47.5%) are enrolled in Career Technical Education programs. These programs connect students with local employers, build skills in high-demand fields, and create pathways to careers right here in our region. CTE isn't about leaving—it's about thriving locally with real skills and real opportunities.
Our Communities Need Our Schools
KUSD is more than an educational institution. Our schools are:
Economic Anchors
Providing jobs, supporting local businesses, and connecting students with career opportunities in growing fields
Community Gathering Spaces
Hosting events, celebrations, and traditions that bring neighbors together
Safe Havens
Providing stable, supportive environments where students develop into caring community members
Bridges to the Future
Preparing students to lead, innovate, and contribute to our communities' continued growth and vitality
When you choose KUSD, you're not just choosing a school for your student. You're choosing to be part of a community where schools are central, families are valued, and neighbors support one another.
