Volunteer & Campus Visits
East Lake Elementary recognizes that parent involvement is a crucial piece of an effective school. When school and home work together as a cooperative team, students successfully reach their full potential as scholars and citizens. Research has consistently shown that positive parent involvement and successful collaboration between school and parents contribute immensely to student success.
We Believe
- Families provide the primary educational environment.
- Parent involvement in their children's education improves student achievement.
- Parent involvement in children's education is more important to student success than family income or parent education.
- Parent involvement with their school is most effective when it is supportive, long-lasting, and well planned.
- The benefit of parent involvement for students is not limited to early childhood or elementary grades; positive benefits continue through high school.
- Parents need to be involved in supporting their children's education both at home and in school.
Staying Connected
Each year, parents are invited to attend regularly scheduled meetings and events designed for convenient participation. Parents are kept informed about their child's progress in the core academic program and are involved on a continuing basis in the planning, review, and improvement of programs, including the parental involvement policy and the Single Plan for Student Achievement.
The principal and staff provide timely information about curriculum, local and state assessment results, proficiency levels students are expected to meet, and the school's performance measures. Parents are informed about student programs, classroom activities, and school events on an ongoing basis. A hard copy of the school's SARC (School Accountability Report Card) is available online for printing, or a copy may be requested at the school office.
General Parent Events

Visiting Classes or Campus
If you would like to visit your child's classroom or any area of campus, please:
- Let your child's teacher know in advance
- Always stop in the main office first to obtain a visitor's pass before visiting any area of campus
- Enter the classroom and be seated as quietly as possible to minimize distraction to the instructional program
We ask that parents refrain from entering classrooms when class is in session unless arranged in advance with the teacher and office.
RAPTOR Visitor Management System
KUSD prioritizes student safety. All visiting adults are required to:
- Present a valid, government-issued identification card when signing in at the office
- Have their photo taken
- Complete a check-in process through our RAPTOR system
This system helps us maintain a safe and secure campus for all students and staff.
