Volunteers & Campus Visits

We welcome families and community members at Obsidian Middle School. To ensure a safe and productive environment for all students, please review the guidelines below before visiting our campus.

Volunteers

We love having volunteers at OMS! Whether you're helping in a classroom, at an event, or around campus, your support makes a real difference for our students and staff.

To get started, stop by the Main Office and our staff will help you through the sign-up process. Please note that parents, guardians, and community members who visit classrooms or campus regularly may be asked to complete our formal volunteer process.

Campus Visitors

All visitors must sign in at the Attendance Office and present a valid driver's license to be scanned into the Raptor System. Raptor compares license information against law enforcement databases to help keep our campus safe. Once cleared, visitors will receive a visitor's pass.

A few important things to know:

• Students enrolled at other schools, or alumni wishing to visit without specific business or prior authorization, will not be permitted on campus.
• School administrators have final say in authorizing all visitors.
• No visitors will be allowed on campus during standardized testing or semester finals.
• Parents wishing to observe their student in the classroom must provide the teacher with at least 24 hours' notice and have met with school administration beforehand.

Deliveries to Students During Class Time

If you need to drop off an item for your student during the school day, please bring it to the Main Office. We will contact your student to come retrieve it. Students are not permitted to enter the parking lot during school hours unless they have been checked out and are leaving campus.
