At Obsidian Middle School, we believe every achievement deserves to be recognized. Whether a student has earned straight A's, shown up every single day, or made meaningful strides in their attitude and effort, we want them to know that their hard work is seen — and that it matters.

Academic Excellence

Each marking period, students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance are honored through our three-tiered recognition program.

Honor Roll is awarded to students who earn a grade point average between 3.0 and 3.49. High Honor Roll recognizes students with a GPA between 3.5 and 3.99. Students who achieve a perfect 4.0 GPA earn a place on the Principal's List — the highest academic honor at OMS.

We celebrate these students because excellence takes dedication, and dedication deserves recognition.

Attendance Awards

Showing up matters. Students who demonstrate a strong commitment to being present and on time are recognized each semester through our attendance awards.

Good Attendance honors students who have maintained a consistent presence throughout the semester. Perfect Attendance is awarded to students who have had zero absences and zero tardies during the school year — a remarkable achievement that reflects real discipline and commitment.

Grade Improvement Award

At Obsidian, we celebrate growth just as much as we celebrate achievement. Students who demonstrate meaningful improvement in their grades, behavior, or overall performance throughout the year are recognized for the progress they've made. This award is a reminder that the effort to get better is something worth honoring — no matter where a student starts.
