Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment lets you earn high school AND college credits for the same courses — giving you a powerful head start on your educational journey before you ever leave LLHS.
If you've ever wanted to get ahead, save money, or challenge yourself with college-level work, Dual Enrollment may be exactly the opportunity you've been looking for.
The Advantage
Taking a Dual Enrollment course isn't just about getting extra credit. It's about positioning yourself for a stronger, more affordable future.
Fast-track Your College Degree
Credits you earn now count toward your college degree later. Depending on how many courses you complete, you could enter college as a sophomore — or finish your degree an entire year ahead of schedule.
Explore Subjects That Genuinely Interest You
Dual Enrollment courses go deeper than standard high school electives. Whether you're curious about psychology, computer science, business, or something else entirely, these courses let you explore real college-level material in the areas that excite you most.
Build Confidence Before You Graduate
Succeeding in a college course while you're still in high school is one of the best ways to prove to yourself — and to colleges — that you're ready for what comes next. Students who complete Dual Enrollment courses often feel more prepared and less anxious about the transition to college.
Save Thousands of Dollars in Tuition
Every college credit you earn now is a credit you won't have to pay for later. Depending on how many courses you complete, Dual Enrollment can save your family a significant amount of money on future college costs.
Strengthen Your College Applications
Colleges notice when applicants have already succeeded at college-level work. Dual Enrollment coursework signals that you're not just college-ready — you're already doing it.
How It Works
Dual Enrollment courses are offered in partnership with Woodland Community College — Lake Campus, your local community college right here in Lake County. Eligible LLHS students can enroll in college courses while still in high school, earning credits that count toward both your LLHS graduation requirements and a future college degree.
Tuition and fees at Woodland Community College are waived for eligible high school students — meaning you can earn real college credit at little to no cost. You are responsible for the cost of any required textbooks or course materials.

How to Get Started
Dual Enrollment enrollment happens at specific times during the school year. Here's how to begin:
- Talk to your counselor — They'll review your eligibility, discuss which courses might be a good fit, and make sure Dual Enrollment aligns with your graduation plan.
- Get a recommendation — Some courses require a teacher or counselor recommendation to enroll.
- Complete the college application — You'll need to apply to Woodland Community College as a student. Your counselor can guide you through this process.
- Register for your course — Once admitted, you'll register for your Dual Enrollment course just like any other college student.
