Volunteer & Campus Visits
Lower Lake Elementary recognizes that parent involvement is a crucial part of an effective school. The school and home must work together as a cooperative team in order to see students successfully reach their full potential as scholars and citizens. Research has shown that positive parent involvement and successful collaboration between schools and parents as partners contribute immensely to student success.
We believe:
- Families provide the primary educational environment.
- Parent involvement in their children's education improves student achievement.
- Parent involvement is more important to student success than family income or parent education level.
- Parent involvement with school is most effective when it is supportive, lasting, and well-planned.
- The benefits of parent involvement are not limited to early childhood — positive benefits continue through high school.
- Parents need to be involved in supporting their child's education both at home and at school.
Volunteering
Volunteers are always welcome at Lower Lake Elementary! Our front office staff is happy to help get you signed up as a school volunteer.
Many parents assist teachers on a regular basis, while others help out whenever their schedule allows. In some cases, parents or guardians who visit classrooms or campus frequently may meet the qualifications for a formal volunteer and will be asked to complete our official volunteer process.
Please note: All volunteers who donate their time must complete the fingerprint process. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the school office to get started. We look forward to having you on campus and helping support our students and staff.
Visiting Campus
All visitors must sign in at the front office and bring a valid driver's license to scan into the Raptor System Kiosk. Please notify your child's teacher in advance of any planned visit, and always stop at the front office for a visitor's pass before visiting any area of campus. Adults must also sign out before leaving — in the event of an emergency, we need to know who is still on campus.
School Safety
The safety of our students is our top priority. All visitors must check in at the front office when entering campus. Checking in at the office allows us to:
- Know who is on campus at all times
- Ensure that only authorized individuals are with students
- Minimize disruptions to classrooms
- Respond quickly in case of an emergency
By signing in at the office and wearing a visitor sticker, you help us keep our school safe.
Guardian Zones: Parents are not permitted past the green lines unless they have signed in through the front office.
