W.C. Carle' Continuation High School

About Carle' Continuation High School

Founded in 1978, Carle' Continuation High School has deep roots in Lake County. We are dedicated to educating students aged 16 to 18, predominantly in grades 10-12, providing a supportive and flexible environment that caters to the diverse needs of our learners.

Our Commitment to Students

At Carle', we understand that many of our students come from challenging backgrounds, including generational poverty. We aim to change the perception that graduating high school is the final goal. Instead, we encourage our students to pursue further education, whether that be enrolling at Woodland Community College, attending a trade school, joining the military, or entering the workforce.

Our Mission

The mission of Carle' High School is to provide an alternative educational setting that empowers students to take charge of their education, establish a post-high school plan, and become responsible, contributing members of society.

Preparing for the Future

  • Graduation with a Plan: Our graduates leave Carle' with a concrete plan for their future. The senior portfolio project allows students to explore various career options and outline the steps required to achieve their goals.
  • Success Stories: Many Carle' graduates secure professional positions in Lake County, working in banks, accounting firms, medical offices, local markets, and with contractors.

Flexible Learning Environment

  • School Hours: Our official school day concludes at 1:30 PM, allowing students the flexibility to work after school or assist at home. Many choose to stay for extra help, work on media projects, or engage in music activities.
  • One-on-One Attention: With a focus on individualized support, we foster a family-like atmosphere that makes Carle' a unique and wonderful place to learn.
